SOTHEBY'S SAVES ITS SALE OF IMPRESSIONNIST AND MODERN ART
17 May 2017
Category : MARKET

Sotheby's sale of Impressionist and Modern art held on May 16, 2017 in New York only yielded 173 million USD after its major lot by Egon Schiele was withdrawn.

Collectors mainly chose top bid on sophisticated pieces, such as a Max Ernst sculpture which sold for 14 million USD but there were not enough lots to raise their enthusiasm. However Sotheby's managed to earn at least 15 million in gross profit from that sale.
