Ernst Wilhelm Nay's oil painting "Scheiben und Halbscheiben" was the star of the three-day auction marathon, setting a new world record of 2,312,500 euros after startint at 230 000 while Sérgio de Camargo's work "Ohne Titel ).1971" fetched a record on the German market of 450,000 euros against a starting price of € 130,000.
"Das Abgarbild" by Georg Baselitz. sold for 425,000 euros and "Peinture 33x22, 1957" by Pierre Soulages reached 375,000 euros against a high estimate of 45,000. Two watercolors by Gerhard Richter starting at 100,000 each fetched 237,500 euros and 368,750 euros respectively while Blinky Palermo's four-part work "Happier than the Morning Sun" went down at 300,000.
Günther Uecker's work "Weißes Feld" with nails providing an impression of rhythmical dynamics sold for 650,000 euros and Jan Schoonhoven's work "R 43-4" fetched 162,500 euros .
Franz Marc's "Zwei Pferde, blaugrün" sold for 775,000 euros against a starting price of 190,000 while Max Beckmann's "Stilleben mit Rosen" culminated at 500,000,. Oskar Kokoschka's "Hamburg III" and Kurt Schwitters' "Merzzeichnung" , both sold for 587,500 euros each. Starting at 65,000, Auguste Herbin's attractive oil painting "Le vieux port de Bastia" (1907) surprisingly went for 562,500 euros, setting a world record for a work by the artist.
Gabriele Münter's "Vereiste Straße" jumped to 337,500 euros, three times its estimate while Emil Nolde's watercolour "Hohe See unter violettem Himmel" feched 275,000. Another watercolour titled "Rittersporn und Dahlien" sold for 212,500 while his oil painting "Holzfigur (Judas)" fetched 187,500.
Erich Heckel's "(Fränzi) Kind in der Hänegematte" reached 243,750 euros while Georg Kolbe's sculpture"Sitzende" went for 47,500 and a bronze "Frierendes Mädchen"from Ernst Barlach went for 125,000.
